 I am Andrew Carrie, an independent transportation specialist based in West Lothian, near Edinburgh. I have been involved in the relationships between transport and land use for a long time, and my objective in setting up my own practice in 2009 was to "return to basics" and provide a more direct advice service to my clients, bringing to bear the experience I have built up, not only in technical analysis but also, for example, in how to achieve suitable access in difficult conditions, avoiding 3rd party land ownerships. I am also able to advise on the legislative processes involved, for example in road adoption and in the making of traffic regulation orders, through experience not normally found in the private sector.
I have over 45 years of experience, 41 of them as a fully qualified Chartered Engineer, in the specialised area of traffic and transportation on a wide range of projects. I am a Fellow of both the Institution of Civil Engineers and the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation.
