January 2024 - Culag, Loch Lomond
In 2016, ACTT were appointed by Luss Estates to prepare a Transportation Statement for a caravan park near Culag on the side of Loch Lomond, and to design a suitable access on to the A82 Trunk Road.
The proposal was approved in principle by Transport Scotland at that time, but for various reasons, the development did not go ahead. The Covid-19 pandemic then intervened and it was not until mid-2023 that the proposal was revisited. The Design Manual for Roads and Bridges had been updated over the intervening period, with some minor changes to design requirements, so ACTT undertook further discussions with Transport Scotland, including the submission of applications for minor "Departures from Standard" for the access design.
